Are binary options a scam? Can you make any money on them?

I came across another one of those videos on a web site promising BIG MONEY with their FREE SOFTWARE that make AUTOMATIC TRADES blah blah blah. I listened and it took me to a site called bee options.com. After researching a bit I discovered it was binary options trading. I know jack shit about this but Forbes says it is basically gambling, unregulated and very risky. Most other places said about the same thing but a few were touting big success stories and big gains. Im not looking for a get rich overnight fix but I am interested in anything that can potentially make money. Does anyone have any real world experience with this site or binary options in general? Thanks!!

Are binary options trades a scam?

Lately every ad I see in YouTube is for that Nadex binary trade company. How in the world can you get returns of over 70%?

What is the business model of the binary options trading websites?

(I am not going to name any websites throughout the post to avoid making this look like an anti-/advertisement.)
To give a bit of context:
About a month ago I have discovered binary trading. I have traded for a while using test account. Was doing great. Then deposited USD 2000.00. Long story short, at a peak I got to 9k+ and then lost everything. This all happened in a window of couple of hours.
USD 2k is not necessarily a big amount of money to me, but the opportunity of "fast money" got stuck in my head.
Fast forward to today. (I am a programmer.) I have created a service that logs all data that a particular binary trading platform broadcasts. I have used over a month's worth of data to run various algorithms to simulate trading. No rocket science: SMA, EMA, Bollinger Bands, etc. metrics (I have worked in a IB, though my knowledge is limited). Long story short, today the algorithm is trading at a 66% success rate (or over 80% success rate if using short-selling) [in this particular dataset]. In theory, I should be making a profit of ~5% a day (the commission charges vary quite a lot throughout the day).
I know, "Past performance is no guarantee of future results."
Regardless, I am considering to give this trading a second chance. First with a low amount of money (thinking about another USD 2000.00) and then see where things go.
Naturally, I am researching legitimacy of my plan. There are a few reddit posts on the subject:
but none provide basic evidence to either legitimate or scam nature of the binary options trading.
I'd like to have a basic understanding of:
Any additional insights are most welcome.
Thank you

Only a couple of months for funds recovery after binary options scams, is it possible?
Trading using the system of binary options has claimed to be promising and beneficial. If you'll follow the trading activities well, not only are you able to fulfill your daily necessities but also you'll be productive. Some others even believe it as a sort of business for the longer term. it's an easy thanks to earning money without having to try to such a lot of diligence. Is it true? Well, Sam Edgerton was one among them who lost much money for trading with binary options. He didn’t have such a lot experience in trading anyway. He was just tempted by the advantages of probably huge profits to be gained when the trouble was successful.
The expectation of being rich in binary options didn't suddenly come to his mind. Sam saw a lover around four years ago who was very successful during this trading.
Moreover, this friend’s life was utterly changed. He was ready to renovate his home to be bigger and better. He bought a replacement car, and his wife’s outfits were far more beautiful than what they wont to be. Of course, Sam wanted to be like him and began to seem for information regarding binary options. Bitcoin recovery
With only a couple of experiences, Sam contacted a broker. He trusted the broker such a lot as Sam gave him around USD 100,000. From the knowledge gathered, the cash wasn't just Sam’s saving, plus he borrowed it from his relatives and a little loan . But all the hopes, wishes, and expectations were suddenly dashed shortly then . He felt just like the fortune didn’t come to him.
When Sam tried to contact the broker to understand how the event of his investment was and asked for a chargeback, the broker said that he was failed. But the broker asked Sam to not worry since as a trader, Sam could recover it with some further terms and conditions. consistent with the broker, Sam didn’t invest his money within the right way. He also needed to enhance his skills and add experiences to achieve success later. The suggestion appeared to be realistic since trading and investment indeed require skills and experiences.
Although there was a neighborhood of him that believes in what the broker said, another a part of Sam thought that he could be telling lies. But regardless of whether he said something right or not, the foremost important thing is that Sam had lost his money. Sadly, it had been not only his money but also his relatives. Sam couldn't imagine how disappointed the family was if knowing he wasn't successful this point .
Fortunately, after checking out a short time on the web regarding the way to recover funds safely from the binary options bankruptcy, Sam found information about Bitcoin Binary options reviews.
Express Recovery may be a company for binary options recovery that promises to assist the lost people to unravel their problems. there have been another company with similar offers needless to say . However, their ways of recovering the cash seem not reasonable in the least . Sure, Sam just had lost much money, and he didn’t want to believe any offers with instant benefits anymore. That’s why; he chose Express Recovery.
There are experts during this company who guide and accompany Sam to get over the loss. It took time needless to say, but the results were very satisfying. He could have my a refund, although it had been not during a brief time. The results could even be seen only in three months after the primary time he consulted his problem. Then, only in some months, the whole money that was utterly gone might be back to his hands. He could pay the debts off to his parents and bank. Of course, it had been a superb lesson for Sam to be more careful in spending his money even it's for business and investment. Many things got to be acknowledged and learned first to avoid loss and bankruptcy. supported Sam's experiences, it's highly recommended for all people that are the victims from the binary options scams to settle on this funds recovery company. So, contact them now to possess an opportunity to recover your funds.

Is FAANG really the only way to get a combo of high pay, good experience, healthy work-life balance and job security these days?

So I am in my 20s, based in London and have been in the industry for 5 years now, first as a software engineer and later - after completing my Masters - as a data scientist. Never had a full-time job at FAANG, partially because I'm not that good at reversing binary trees on a whiteboard (had a summer internship at Google but failed the conversion interviews), partially because I never really saw getting there as my goal and haven't interviewed with any of the big companies since then.
Now, I always had this idea that at start ups, there is this trade-off that your work-life balance might be not as good - but you are much better off in terms of getting interesting experience, having more personal growth and flexibility, as well as often more money.
My personal experience so far, however, has been kinda frustrating and I can't help but feel like FAANG is superior in every single way:
It feels a bit like I've reached my "fuck it" moment and that I should just start spending all my free time on LeetCode practicing binary trees reversals to finally land a job at FAANG. So I am really just looking for opinions here. Is there indeed such a big gap in the quality of life of the FAANG people compared to everyone else? Or does anyone have any good stories about working for a small company where they would still feel safe, get a decent pay and good experience, and have time for their hobbies and families?
TL;DR: Spent the first few years of my CS career at smaller companies and can't help but feel inferior to my peers who have been enjoying their time at FAANG. This makes me think I made a bad mistake by not following the same path. The risks just don't seem worth it and this COVID crisis is kinda the last straw

1xbet: Global scam, piracy, fraud and money laundering!

Hello,
This may come of no surprise to some, but I'm here to discuss and expose the company (and it's plethora of aliases) known as 1xbet.com
1xbet was on track to become the world's leading online gambling operator, they are current sponsors of FC Barcelona and the African Football Association and other partnerships on the way.
Promoting illegal sports and video piracy they were rapidly banned in the UK, and their contracts with Chelsea and Tottenham terminated. They are also financially blacklisted in Russia their home country.

1xbet use a variety of proxies and aliases to circumvent and distribute their website to every location around the world.
They also operate under a number of different brand names: 1xbit stavkabet.kz astekbet betwinner melbet betandyou 22bet fan-sport.com db-bet.com pegas.bet xparibet sportloto99.com
Having been denied the use of PayPal platform, they use third party personal accounts to collect deposits on their behalf. Also providing deposit methods through a multitude of crypto currencies and obscure payment processors.

My experience was the same as thousands of others, and had an account with them for years. Deposits are immediate, however an attempt to withdraw triggers a series of loops and obstacles over months that ultimately consist of preventing the customer from receiving their money, with no explanation. This involves providing your entire life history and ridiculous information. I was put through this on three occasions, before I was ignored and funds forfeit.
Their only method of support is an email address which consists of one line replies, no agent names, and inconsistent messages.

A simple search on Google will bring up thousands of pages of user complaints and scam reports.
Delving further into this company, there is no information on staff, management or headquarters.

Their permanent residence is registered in Cyprus to a MS KYRIAKI KOSTIKIAN.
Evgeniy Kiriushin is head of business development.
MR KOSTIKIAN has hundreds of companies to his name, the corruption delves further. He was charged with defrauding €60m from investors back in 2015, in which he su
