For discussion about Litecoin, the leading cryptocurrency derived from Bitcoin. Litecoin is developed with a focus on speed, efficiency, and wider initial coin distribution through the use of scrypt-based mining.
How can you lay with Bitcoin or Litecoin if it takes 20+ minutes to process?
I was wondering how business can accept older cryptos as they take 20+ minutes to validate? Is there some mechanics in place I’m not aware of? How does it work? Is there any existing APIs for dev that would allow an easy integration?
Is DigiByte really a competitor to Bitcoin or Litecoin?
Personally, I don't see Bitcoin and DigiByte in the same level. Bitcoin is targeting a global population for peer to peer remittances. It has also historically been proven as a good store of value. DigiByte, on the other hand, targets the new wave of educated crypto minds who are aware of bitcoin's shortcomings. They also understand the value of security and latency reduction while exchanging value. To these emerging crypto lovers and enthusiasts, DigiByte offers a blockchain that:
emphasizes a 'security first' mentality,
is ASIC resistant,
has super fast transaction speeds (currently 15s) that gets faster with increasing usage,
a smart contracts and asset tokenization platform.
Thus by being a multi layered blockchain with valuable features, DigiByte stands on a level of technical advancement that cannot be put in the same tier as Bitcoin or Litecoin.
Soon you will be able to swap Bitcoin or Litecoin for Vertcoin using Atomic Swaps. Even if Vertcoin doesn't get added to Coinbase in the near feature, people will be able to swap coins for Vertcoin without an exchange.
Atomic Swaps on the Lightning Network is one of the many reason I'm holding Vertcoin. Who needs exchanges when soon we will be able to swap Vertcoin with other coins?! This is the true vision of Cryptocurrency, not paying exchanges tons of money and having them charge huge fees.
Tax implications of using Bitcoin or Litecoin to purchase Ripple?
Hi everyone, I have Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ether in my Coinbase account and would like to use one of them to buy XRP as that seems like the easiest way to go about obtaining XRP. However, I can't figure out if there will be tax implications if I use one of those currencies to buy XRP. I have googled around and have seen lots of conflicting information. I am based in the US for what its worth. Thanks!

[Landlord US-CA] Would you accept Bitcoin or Litecoin for rent payments?
I'm curious if other Landlords have thought about this and if anyone has accepted these currencies as payment. If I accepted payment in these currencies I could have doubled my revenue as these coins have gone up in value. Update: My question is related to project I am working on. Above I stated acceptance of bitcoin as payment. I understand the problem with adoption and low percentage of tenants actually paying in this currency. Without self promoting I want to pose an adjusted question. Would you consider or be curious about an app that accepts payment for you via ACH transfers from tenants and then automatically separating 20, 30, or 50% of the collected income and automatically purchasing Crypto currency of your choice from BTC, BCH/BCC, ETH, or LTC. As a investment account.
With the way everything is looking should l invest my $1000 into bitcoin or litecoin
l would like to diversify just so that l don’t have to choose but l don’t want to go any lower than a $1000 on either at the current price for either. So if l could only spend my $1000 on only LTC OR BTC, which one and why?
Litecoin functions like Bitcoin: It is an online payment system that uses cryptocurrency instead of a national currency like U.S, dollars, Bitcoin and Litecoin carry out transactions using bitcoin and Litecoin respectively. As cryptocurrencies, they both garner a similar community and image, as well as rely on similar cryptographic principles. Litecoin vs Bitcoin: Technology. The special thing about the technology of Bitcoin is its blockchain.A blockchain is a huge digital record of trades. The record is stored across a network of thousands of computers called nodes.. Users can send each other money all over the world. Bitcoin has been the dominant name in cryptocurrencies since 2009, but Litecoin and hundreds of others have joined the fray as well. As of May 2020, Bitcoin's market cap is just under $128 billion Ripple's market cap now exceeds $40 billion. Ripple Coinbase's support for bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum -- as well as Bitcoin Cash, a new branch of the bitcoin blockchain created in August 2017 Litecoin, launched in 2011, was among the first cryptocurrencies to follow in the footsteps of bitcoin and has often been referred to as “silver to bitcoin’s gold.” It was created by Charlie
